I (and my family) felt similar when my granddad died after suffering for a long time. And if you did "shorten.. her life" (or more realistically shorten her suffering) then at least she was surrounded by her loving family at the time, which is something that will give you comfort in the future.

Kind regards,
MattUbique Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04595735455445658424noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7615782020735321095.post-75940778189490563382013-10-01T09:33:36.312+01:002013-10-01T09:33:36.312+01:00Our ethics and emotions around death and so on are...Our ethics and emotions around death and so on are complex.Towars the end my mother had a heated blanket on her to keep her body temperature up and an oxygen mask on. The mask was uncomfortable and the blankets too heavy and uncomfortable for her as well. I spoke to the consultant and removed the mask, the folded the blankets down as much as I could. I probably shortened her life.

I still feel guilt at being relieved she has died, but it was for the est for her as well.Trebianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02221916804339000102noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7615782020735321095.post-49530869264974007672013-09-30T22:33:09.788+01:002013-09-30T22:33:09.788+01:00Very sorry to read about the loss of your mother. ...Very sorry to read about the loss of your mother.
