I had an absolute cast-iron resolution that I wouldn't buy an army to do with their past as I was having nothing to do with that Conquistadores nonsense.<br /><br />Then we had this lovely, passionate, guide who showed us round a country house outside Arequipa and told us the story of what happened to it during the War. There was a graffito in a cupboard of a Chilean soldier, and some relics on display.
