My scanner, which is brilliant and has excellent controls and character recognition software is incompatible with 64 Bit Windows 7.
How can there be no drivers, not even if using a Vista emulator, for a perfectly serviceable piece of kit?
If I was a religious man I'd say that software and hardware suppliers are in league with the devil. Instead I just reckon they're a shiftless bunch of chancers who'd rip your eyes out if you let them.

Agree heartily with your sentiments here! Grrrrrrr. . . .

This is a reason to keep (or pick up) an "outdated" computer with an older operating system . . . you can often pick one up very cheaply.

...and then sell you the replacement optical viewing devices, patched to v3 (the latest of course), and compliant with Windows V7... :o))
ReplyDeleteThank you for your support gentlemen. I have a range of options open to me, none of them particularly attractive. I have an old PC that will work with the scanner but then I'd have to scan to one PC then transfer to another. What I want to do is work seemlessly with my new DTP package. Humph!
