Oh No!

Just tried to post a blog on my weekend activities and been told I can't upload any more pictures as I've reached my free limit with Picassa.

Apart from spending money on Picassa or deleting a load of older pictures anyone got any suggestions?

  1. From what I understand Wordpress (another free blog service) has higher limits.

  2. Just open an account with one of the other free online hosting sites; I use "Box" for the Tabletop Teasers, but you can also use Photobucket etc. Load your pictures there and just link to them from your blog...

PS. Or you could sign up for another Blogger account and load the pictures there, and then link to them from this blog... :o)

  3. Good idea by Steve. I also use Picasa and I'm awaiting the inevitable 'full' message any day now. I assume I'll just have to delete a load of older pics...which is a shame.

  4. Trebian,

You are not the first person to ask this question over the past few days, and I am wondering if their might be a fault at Picasa. Either that or you have uploaded a lot of large pictures (the limit on Picasa is 1GB of free storage)

You can use another new storage site for your pictures, such as Fickr (http://www.flickr.com/), but I would check to see if you have used your storage limit on Picasa first.

To give you some idea of how many photos I have uploaded since I started my blob, the total as of today is 4306 and the storage space used is 581MB. By my reckoning that leaves me approximately 400MB to go.

    I hope that this helps.

    All the best,

    Bob

  5. It's all down to size. I re-size all pictures to be 600 pixels across.

  6. Only 1 GB? Google gives at least 10GB now, so you aren't getting your share. Open up a Gmail account, which will automatically give you a Google account. Then make sure your Picassa account is associated with that same email, or open op a new Picassa account if not.

The Picassa desktop application is helpful too. It can automatically upload photos, and will also automatically re-size the images for you too (if you set it to do that, but I think it is the defaults.

  7. Thank you everyone. I have resolved the issue I think. A problem with the picture upload options, resolved by setting my Picasa account up correctly.

And I didn't even realise I had one.
