Some Gorchurra for my Sikhs

Gorchurra were Sikh irregular cavalry who were the pride of the Khalsa until Ranjit Singh decided to focus on well drilled infantry and artillery.

I had an issue here. As previously discussed the recommended suppliers had either dropped out of the business or rendered their website unusable. So I took a punt and bought figures from Irregular's Persian range. They've got that Asian armour look and lances, so I thought it worth a try.

I had an issue straight off. The lances are ridged, which look great, but it creates weak spots (I had this with my Taipings). Accordingly, one of my figures had lost the top of his lance. Rather than try to be clever I just carved the whole lot away and gave him a flag pole instead.

They come with a rather non-Sikh looking banner, but hopefully I can get away with it once I've painted the "Khanda" symbol on it. The command figure has a nice mace he is gesticulating with.

The figures are one piece castings, which I normally like. However, I needed to do a little bit of work on these, which meant this wasn't ideal.

It's not completely obvious from this angle, but the figures have bows and arrows in cases. If the riders were separate I'd have carved them off, but I couldn't get a knife in where I needed to, so they'll have to stay.

Some of them had kite shields, which had to go regardless. This wasn't too bad as I could cover the resulting carnage with one of my 3D printed shields.

They've come out alright, but they aren't the easiest figure to work on. They have a lot of detail & I can't always work out what paint is supposed to go where.

Hopefully no one else will either.
