April last year I posted about the start of a new project, the Anglo-Sikh wars of the 1840s. This was a synergy project as a lot of the British forces could do double duty for the 1st China War as well. I ordered most of the figures from Irregular Miniatures in two batches. The China War British were ordered this time last year, and the Sikhs and rest of the British in April. The China War figures you'll recall were done in time for my China War game at COW. The Sikhs have been the main workload for the bulk of 2025.
Well, today I finished off a Sikh Regular infantry battalion and an irregular cavalry unit, and that's them done, pretty much. Part way through the year I ordered some FK15s from The Little Corporal as I wasn't completely happy with the irregular Sikh cavalry from Irregular. OB from "You Do Not Know the North" blog had recommended the FK15s, but there were issues with getting them until Rich at the Little Corporal bought/licensed the moulds from QRF. Even then he had production issues with a third party, so I only got them fairly recently.
Anyway, the army is done for now, barring me possibly revisiting the figures I replaced, and they're all neatly in their boxes, waiting for me to finish their opponents.
Infantry and artillery. Eight battalions of Regulars to the right, four of irregulars to the left, each four bases of three figures. Then a unit of Akali in the centre. Six camel guns, three field guns and three horse guns. Just over 300 figures in total.
Off to prep some Gurkhas now.
