How I Wasted My Saturday (revisited)

My scanner, which is brilliant and has excellent controls and character recognition software is incompatible with 64 Bit Windows 7.

How can there be no drivers, not even if using a Vista emulator, for a perfectly serviceable piece of kit?

If I was a religious man I'd say that software and hardware suppliers are in league with the devil. Instead I just reckon they're a shiftless bunch of chancers who'd rip your eyes out if you let them.

  2. This is a reason to keep (or pick up) an "outdated" computer with an older operating system . . . you can often pick one up very cheaply.

  3. ...and then sell you the replacement optical viewing devices, patched to v3 (the latest of course), and compliant with Windows V7... :o))

  4. Thank you for your support gentlemen. I have a range of options open to me, none of them particularly attractive. I have an old PC that will work with the scanner but then I'd have to scan to one PC then transfer to another. What I want to do is work seemlessly with my new DTP package. Humph!
