This week we were at Phil's for a game of "AK47 Republic", using the classic rules.
Phil said he'd supply the armies. Chris K and I took our own anyway, just in case. As it was Phil had something other than playing the rules "straight" in mind. He'd sorted out bits and pieces of armies and some terrain, and then by passed the normal set up. He gave Tim & me a couple of units to defend with, whilst Steve and Phil had five units, including a helicopter to attack.
I completely forgot to take any pictures until we'd finished. You can see our units on the board, which were a load of infantry in rough terrain and a couple of tanks. All of Chris & Steve's had been destroyed by the end of the game, except for a solitary tank behind the mosque that has just been removed.
Phil had us roll for unit quality and then ask for arrivals when we thought we were due for them. As it was we didn't need them, as we were devastatingly effective with our mortar battery and everyone except for me seemed to have forgotten the rules.
Any how, this post is just here so I don't forget to include the game in my year end summary. It is probably of little interest to anyone else.
